Integrated Youth Substance Misuse Specialist Service (IYSMSS)

The Integrated Youth Substance Misuse Specialist Service (IYSMSS) provides care for young people aged 12-24 with substance misuse.

Provides Outpatient Counselling, Residential Rehabilitation and a Sobering Up Unit.

Services include:

- Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Counselling.

- Residential rehabilitation program at Alban Place for intensive, live-in, ongoing support based on the therapeutic community model.

- Sobering Up Unit is a one-bed crisis response / acute service available to young people needing a safe and supported environment to sober up in.

- Connection to other services.

Kids Helpline

Provides free 24/7 online and phone counselling services for young people aged 5-25.

Kids helpline provides counselling supports assisting with many topics including mental health, physical health, identity, relationship, school, family and friendships.

Services include:

- 24/7 counselling supports.

- Webchat.

- My Circle social platform for 12-25 year olds.

Metropolitan Youth Health (MYH)

Metropolitan Youth Health (MYH) is a trauma-responsive youth health service provided by the Women’s and Children’s Health Network to young people aged 12-25 years.

Provides a therapeutic trauma responsive health service.

Services include:

- Health assessments, screening and management of general medical issues (we run Nurse/Midwife and Dr led clinics at our sites and at various outreach locations).

- Antenatal and postnatal care.

- Sexual health (including screening, pap smears, contraception advice and emergency contraception) and education.

- Immunisation and health education.

- Programs for pregnant and parenting young people and their partners, including health care, education, training and career pathways, educational case management and group activities.

Multicultural Reconnect

Provides free early intervention services for youth aged 12-18 from a culturally and linguistically diverse background who are having problems at school or home, are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Uses a culturally sensitive approach to support young people from diverse backgrounds.

Services include:

- Outreach services across metropolitan Adelaide.

- Counselling and emotional support.

- Family mediation and conflict resolution.

- Guidance on education and community engagement.

- Practical support to access accommodation and secure finances.

- Help with managing substance use.

- Assistance to re-engage with family, school, and community.

- Support to identify and achieve personal goals.

- Referrals to other services.

Newly Arrived Youth Service (NAYS)

Newly Arrived Youth Service (NAYS) supports young people aged 12-21 and their families who have moved to Australia within the last 5 years.

The service strengthens family relationships, addresses challenges that may lead to conflict or homelessness, and empowers young people to stay engaged in school and employment.

Services include:

- Family mediation to strengthen relationships.

- Assistance with education and employment pathways.

- Outreach and advocacy support.

- School holiday activities and community events.

- Group information sessions for schools, parents, and agencies.

Post Care Support Service

Post Care Support Services provides supports to young people who are transitioning out of care to build skills.

Provides case management, counselling, information, advocacy and skills in independent living, finances, relationships, study and employment.

Supports include:

- Transition to independent living skills.

- Education and employment supports.

- Financial literacy skills and grant support.

- Building skills to manage family and social networks.

- Culturally responsive support.

- Referral support to other services.

Puddle Jumpers

Provides camps and activity days for children, young people and families with a focus on those who do not live with their birth parents.

Puddle Jumpers equips young people with the confidence and skills to assume more control and make informed choices in their everyday lives.

Supports include:

- Camps with different themes.

- Activities.

- Develop relationships.

- Social interactions.

- Self-esteem.

- MinTies Program for 14-16 year olds.

- Single activity days.

Reconnect - Onkaparinga

Reconnect supports young people aged 12 to 18 years who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness who live, work or study in the Onkaparinga City Council area.

The program offers individual and family counselling, mediation and supports.

Supports include:

- Improve family relationships.

- Stabilise accommodation.

- Re-establish connections with education, work and community.

Provides early intervention services to assist young people aged 12 to 18 years who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness in the Playford Council area.

Reconnect assists homeless youth to stabilise their living situation and improve their level of engagement with family, work, education, training and their local community.

- Mediation.

- Practical support to the whole family.
