The Essential Medical Equipment Payment (EMEP) is a Centrelink payment from Services Australia that helps eligible people with the extra energy costs of running essential medical equipment or medically required heating or cooling at home.

The EMEP provides an annual financial contribution to help people manage increased electricity or energy costs caused by essential medical equipment (such as oxygen machines or ventilators) or medical conditions that require heating or cooling. It is designed to reduce the financial burden of ongoing medical energy use at home and is paid yearly as long as eligibility continues.
